We completed Letter- book E/e: "Ettabetta." We concentrated on the SHORT sound of /e/ as in elephant, elf, envelope.
Math: We also completed Chapter 6: Subtraction.
Our Theme was Black History Month with a story and video each day of a famous Black American icon.
We celebrated Maellie's 6th Birthday.
The children enjoyed working on some Valentine's Day projects. I loved the beautiful paintings of a heart and flowers that our artists created. They enjoyed making the "Thumbody Loves You" magnets and the door hanger. The text of the card was a board copy exercise.
We had a lovely little Valentine Party in compliance with Covid 19 guidelines. The children enjoyed individually wrapped cupcakes. Thank you to all the parents who helped the children sign Valentine cards and/or sent in lovely treat bags. Also thank you to Mrs. Louissaint for arranging the party and gift boxes.
This week:
Mrs. Corbi is on vacation until mid March. Mrs. Allocca will be here each day.
Religion: We are now in the Liturgical Season of LENT. Lent is the 40- day period before Easter. It is a time to pray and to change anything that we do that is not pleasing to God.
Math: We will begin Chapter 7: Represent, Count and Write Numbers 11-19.
ELA: We will begin Letter-book 12: H/h - "Hot Rod."
Our Theme of Black History Month continues!
It is also the Year of the Ox in the Chinese Calendar. We will have some fun learning about the Asian Zodiac characters.
