Where Faith Meets Learning
LECCION 10- LOS DEPORTES: Paginas 181-207. This is the last chapter in REPASO II. A good place to end the year. There is a also a wonderful Review Section for Repaso II on pages 196- 207, which I highly recommend you do over the summer to keep your mind sharp! It includes a Buscapalabras on P. 201 and a Crucigrama on P. 205 plus other easy, fun exercises. Save your workbook as a reference guide for next year. Esta semana: Leccion #1- Copy the 33 Sports related words on pages 181-182 into your Spanish notebook, as we always do, in 2 columns, Spanish and English. Use 2 separate pages: 1-20, 21-33. Say them out loud daily. Quiz yourself by folding back your notebook pages, so you can only see one language at a time. (Spanish II expects you to know most of these words.) Leccion #2 -Despues: Haga ejercicios A y B- Paginas 183-184, only in your workbook. Leccion #3- Starting at the bottom of Page 185 to top half of P.186, read over carefully how to say "this" and "these." ( este, esta, estos, estas) OJO: Esto and Eso, ending in -o, mean This and That in general, when you don't have a specific noun attached, are also used somtimes. Fill in the correct forms: masculine, feminine, singular and plural into the 4 blanks. Leccion #4- THAT/ THOSE: ese, esa, esos and esas. REGLA: Just take out the "t" from before with "this' and 'these" and you will have "that" and "those!" Ejemplo: este = this and ese = that! Read over bottom of P. 186- top of P. 187. OVER THERE! When something is "way over there," we switch to aquel, aquella, aquellos and aquellas! Fill in the 8 blanks now, top half of Pagina 187. Then do Actividades D, E and F, PP. 187-188 for practice. As I already have over a dozen marks from each of you this Trimester 3, and I have to do the report cards this week, I am not collecting any additional assignments. Thank you for all the hard work you did online!
OJO: Thank you for the more than a dozen assignments that you were able to turn in for grading during this very challenging time! In case you were not aware, I actually printed out each one and wrote comments on them for you to review. I especially hope that you enjoyed doing your Spanish Media Journal and Cinco de Mayo research papers. We have been told by Mrs. Carberry, that your parents are coming by in their cars next Tuesday, June 11 from 11AM- 12:30PM. I am giving your homeroom teachers Spanish folders with all your work in it. Those unclaimed will be left in the main office for you to pick up. I hope that I was able to give all of you a solid foundation in Spanish for high school. Often, looking back, it was interesting and fun to do our various activities together over the last 2 years. Scroll down below now and review the last 3 sections from March on how to enhance your Spanish fluency at home this past month, that I advised you to do. (Of course, at that time, I had no idea we would be out so long!) Your Spanish fluency needs to be maintained at home to keep up your reading and listening comprehension, otherwise, it will be lost. I also recommend that you look over ideas I gave the seventh graders on Class Pages now for more tips on what to do. Required Assignment: I would like you to type up and email to me a Journal of what you have done this past month, March 16- April 15, to enhance your Spanish at home. PART 2 -- STARTING TODAY, April 15, or at the latest next Monday, April 20, Keep a DAILY LOG now for about one week as to what you did each day to practice more Spanish until Friday, April 24th.
