WE COMPLETED  OUR TEST ON
CHAPTER 5 - ATOMS, BONDING, AND THE PERIODIC TABLE .

OUR NEXT CHAPTER IS CHEMICAL REACTIONS.

****IN OUR NYSTATE BOOK WE ALSO COMPLETED WORK ON CH. 8 - ECOSYSTEMS.
TESTS HAVE BEEN RETURNED AND REVIEWED IN CLASS. ****

IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE THESE TESTS AS A STUDY GUIDE FOR THE 8th GRADE FINAL EXAM.

OUR NEXT NYSTATE REVIEW CHAPTER IS PLATE TECTONICS AND STUDENTS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED THIS CHAPTER.

ALTHOUGH THE STUDENTS READ AND COMPLETE THIS BOOK INDEPENDENTLY, ALL QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN REVIEWED FOR ACCURACY. *****

IN ADDITION, ALL STUDY GUIDES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND WILL BE REVIEWED PRIOR EACH TEST.

WEIGHT VS. GRAVITY

In addition, we will be working on the New York State Review Book and will begin with Ch. 5 - Organisms. There will block assignments and tests on Chapters to be announced along with vocabulary tests. Quizlet tests have been created to help the students. 

We have connected to Quizlet which practices vocabulary via quizzes and games.

There will be a weekly NYSTATE TEST ON VOCABULARY on assigned chapters.

STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO WORK ON ALL CHAPTERS OF THEIR NEW YORK STATE BOOKS INDEPENDENTLY.

We will be meeting daily and homework will be given on this page. However, it is very important that students also put all assignments in their planners in order to organize the books and supplies they need to take home each day.

There will be a weeks notice prior to each test and they will be listed on this page.
There should be no weekend homework other than long-range projects and studying for tests.

The Annual Fair will take place in February.

There will be extra help for EIGHTH grade on Friday mornings beginning at 8:10 A.M.

CLASS POLICIES:.

This year the EIGHTH grade will be exploring Physical Science dealing with matter, energy, and chemical changes. In addition we will be reviewing throughout the school year to prepare for the eighth grade science performance and written tests in June.  Materials in the Lab are used in class on a regular basis and will continue to be used throughout the year. Energy and force are our final topics. 

We will be meeting daily It is very important that students also put all assignments in their planners in order to organize their books and supplies they need to take home each day.

There will be a week's notice prior to each test and should be no weekend homework other than long-range projects and studying for tests. Studying nightly is necessary. Quizzes will be announced as needed. They will be listed on this page.
